Dallas Cowboys cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones will be eligible to compete in the team's Week 1 game against Cleveland on Sept. 7, the Dallas Morning News reported Thursday.Jones told the newspaper that NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell fully reinstated the suspended player because he did not have any off-the-field incidents since being allowed to practice with the Cowboys in June."It feels good man, you know, to get a second chance and I just have to take advantage of it," Jones told the Morning News. "First and foremost, I don't want to let myself down, definitely my little girl down. I'm thankful for Jerry [Jones], the fans in Dallas and my teammates for believing in me. I need to keep doing what I've been doing to get reinstated, staying with myself and my teammates and staying away from those knuckleheads and just stay focused."
Since being drafted by the Tennessee Titans in 2005, Jones has been arrested six times and was part of 12 off-the-field incidents. He was suspended for repeated violations of the league's personal conduct policy.According to the Morning News, Jones will open the new NFL season as the No. 3 cornerback on the Cowboys roster. He participated in three preseason games, recording eight tackles and returning two punts for 42 yards.
